the game shows the soldiers as cowards and unwilling to fight. so the whole plot is based on the main characters in the Gulag I got the feeling that this is just propaganda in the style of 'Gate at the Gate'or 'K-19'

Where the observer is encouraged to think that you could literally just get in the vehicles and drive off, as though the soviets of the time were just stupid for executing scorched earth tactics. Many of the scorched earth events in the game are also shown in a very silly way IMO.

When this game chooses to focus in on the absolute very worst specific events which happened rarely, it paints an inaccurate picture of history. If CoH1 showed american deserters being shot it would be accurate, but its a very rare event, so spending screen time to show it would be strange because it would highlight something uncommon. Technically in Florida you can find people who have sex with crocodiles or run around fast food chains naked with guns or whatever, but if you made a video game about the average american and hyper focused on those particular incidents it creates an image of that being the norm. The other parts are the issue because of the way media representation works. The polish scenes are fine, I have no issue with them in the game.
